Andros Townsend’s thunderbolt which helped Crystal Palace beat Manchester City 3-2 on their own pitch has OBVIOUSLY been nominated for this year’s Puskas Award, leading me to encourage each and every Palace fan who reads this to CLICK HERE and vote for our boy to win it.
Despite the quality of the strike, Andros saw himself beaten out for Goal of the Season on Match of the Day by Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany last May, much to the chagrin of Palace’s fan-base but now we have the chance to redress the balance somewhat.
Any volley of that quality deserves to be spoken about in the highest of terms and whilst it won’t make a gigantic difference to any of our lives going forward, the prospect of Townsend being able to call himself a Puskas Award winner for the rest of his days is certainly enough motivation for me to implore you to spend a few seconds voting for him.
The fact that his effort helped Palace secure one of the unlikeliest victories of the 2018/19 Premier League season over furthers its winning credentials in my mind.
You know what to do.
