Crystal Palace are thought to have expressed an interest in signing 18-year-old Tottenham academy defender Jubril Okedina when his contract in north London expires at the end of the season.
Whilst Spurs have long had high hopes for the teenager, it’s looking increasingly likely that he won’t renew terms and will instead seek out new challenges elsewhere when the current campaign comes to an end, with Palace reported to be the most high-profile club who’ve expressed an interest in signing him.
Also being courted by the likes of Swansea City and Ipswich Town according to AllNigeriaSoccer, the defender will have a big decision to make for his career when push comes to shove in two months’ time. Capable of playing both in the centre and on the right of defence, Jubril has played regularly for Tottenham at different youth levels this season and equipped himself well but with competition for first-team places so fierce under Mauricio Pochettino, he can hardly be blamed for exploring the possibilities that exist elsewhere.
This is the first I’m hearing of our supposed interest in Okedina and as such, I’ve not got a great deal of background information to offer you as readers but I dare say he’s a player we’d be hopeful of moulding into a first-teamer inside a year or two, should things fall in his favour following a potential move to SE25.
I’ll keep an eye out for any further developments.
