Crystal Pa lace appear to be on the verge of landing 21-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri after agreeing a loan deal for the rest of the season with an option to make his stay a permanent one at the end of the season.
The Sao Paolo stopper has been attracting real interest from Italy with Fiorentina known to be keen but things seem to have sped up from Palace’s end over the last 24 hours, leaving the keeper all ready to fly to England and finalise the move.
Having represented Brazil at U20 level, there’s no doubting Perri’s potential and high standing within his native country but with first-team opportunities currently limited, he’s understandably keen to play and appears to be open to the idea of making the switch over to England in search of regular minutes.

Details of the exact pre-agreed fee differ depending on what you read but the future figure appears to be sat somewhere between €4-7 million; a number which I’m sure you’ll agree, sounds reasonable on the face of things.
It’s not often you see clubs adding a fourth first-team keeper to their ranks partway through a season but with Vicente Guaita injured, huge doubts hanging over Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni in the final few months of what is almost certain to be his last contract in SE25, this move could well be one made for the Eagles’ long-term future.
The few comments I’ve read from Sao Paolo fans so far seem perplexed that the club aren’t getting closer to €10-12 million for Perri, which is always a very good sign when bringing a player in. Yes, there are a few question marks over whether or not he’ll be able to make the step up to the Premier League but I applaud the club for acting decisively in trying to rid us of goalkeeping worries given the events of the last few days.
