VIDEO: What Can We Expect From Alexander Sørloth? Goals…

Norwegian international Alexander Sørloth is Crystal Palace’s new number nine having signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the Eagles on Deadline Day. It’s fair to say, I’m pretty excited about what he’ll be bringing to the team.

Whilst it would be silly to deny that he faces a major step up in quality from the Danish Superliga when testing himself in the Premier League, the testimonies of those who’ve watched him regularly over the last 12 months point towards a striker with real room for growth within his natural game.

Standing at a mighty 6’4 and having only turned 22 last December, there’s certainly a physicality about him which will offer Roy Hodgson a viable alternative to Christian Benteke at the head of the side between now and May, unless of course he plans to use both men as part of a 4-4-2 formation, which in theory, could scare the living daylights out of their covering defenders.

Undeniably still a tad raw given his inexperience, the hope moving forward will be that Sørloth grows into his role at Selhurst Park in smooth fashion, continuing to learn his trade whilst chipping in with a few goals for us between now and the end of the current campaign.

Midtjylland officials are known to have been blown away by the fee they’ve received for his services from Palace, having paid a fraction of that for him just seven months ago but his form for them in the period since points towards an upward curve that could bode extremely well for those of a red and blue persuasion.

Having bagged 14 goals and nine assists in 25 games for the Danes, it’s fair to say that Alexander has been causing quite a stir both domestically and internationally since June and whilst it does of course remain a bit of a punt on our part, I would suggest there’s more than enough already present within his game for him to bed in well with his new teammates and thrive when given chances to impress by Roy Hodgson.

We would all have liked to have seen one or two more faces coming in on Deadline Day but for now, we have a new number nine and I for one, am over the moon to have him.

Looks a good signing with a lot of potential.

The rest of the days dealings end up the CAR CRASH we have all become so used to.

Leaving important signings to the last day is unbelievably stupid, any last minute problems arise and you are left with no time to overcome them, as has happened.

Roy deserved better than this to help him progress our chances of survival.

so we got sorloth, maybe a good deal.but for me all 3 signings, signal looking to the future.that,s all well being,if we stay up.but we live in the here and new prem experience,u better hope these transfers work.too reply basically on the old squad is very risky.we saw the other night,if wilf doesn,t play well,we struggle.luckily i feel roy, will do just enough to keep us safe.but with spursand united to play very soon,we better be on our mettle.

Glad we got Something especially after Zaboleta’s appalling and unpunished challenge saw Bakary booted not just off the park but out of the season as well
