Mamadou Sakho’s Palace Move Is Now Closer Than Ever

After a summer of almost continuous speculation, it looks as though Crystal Palace’s efforts to sign Mamadou Sakho may actually be about to pay off.

This report gives all the details of a sizeable shift in negotiations, with Liverpool ready to let him leave.

When the Frenchman first set foot in SE25, no one was quite sure of the impact he would make. Having been cast aside by Jurgen Klopp over a lack of professionalism, the loan spell he agreed to with Palace was meant to be nothing more than a rebuilding of trust between he and the Reds boss but in the months that followed, Mama and the Palace faithful built an immensely strong bond.

Whilst no one should be fooled into believing that the central defender’s performances single-handedly allowed us to avoid the drop, there is no denying that his presence at the heart of the Eagles’ back four made a huge difference to both our play and general harmony as a team.

Loved as much in the dressing room as he was on the pitch, Sakho’s return to Selhurst Park would represent a massive morale boost for a squad who have started the 2017/18 Premier League campaign in dire fashion. Without a point or even a goal to their name in the first three fixtures of the season, things need to change fast and although he may not provide much of a goal threat, Mama could certainly help to shore things up at the other end of the pitch.

With Thursday’s transfer window now inescapably close, Sakho’s own personal preference to return to south London gives us a sizeable advantage over any of his other possible suitors. Now all we need, is for Steve Parish and Liverpool’s board of directors to put aside their differences and iron out the move that everyone wants to see.

I’m keeping everything crossed.

Whilst this is brilliant news, i can’t help but think just stumping out 30m a few months ago would have resulted in 2-6 points being accrued by now. That in itself is worth more than the 5m the Board has saved by playing hardball over the fee for the whole summer.

Jose fonte baby don’t agree with your message though bud u fortunately the players hate franks system so no matter how good sakho is we would of lost them games. Swansea game summed it up the players hate it and aren’t keen on franks man management skills either.
