FdB Speaks About The Specific Positions He’s Looking To Strengthen

With just days to go until the closure of the transfer window Frank de Boer has been speaking openly about the positions he’s hoping to strengthen before it’s too late.

These quotes see Frank speak specifically about the positions he’d like to strengthen in the coming days.

Whilst the Dutchman is obviously focused heavily on today’s game at home to Swansea, questions regarding the club’s transfer targets were always going to be a topic of conversation in his last pre-match press conference prior to the closure of the window and to his credit, De Boer didn’t shy away from disclosing exactly what he and his coaches are looking for in the next few days.

Other than the signing of Jairo Riedewald from Ajax, we haven’t seen the club bring in any other permanent transfers this summer, raising alarms amongst supporters over where we stand in relation to the Financial Fair Play regulations that are supposedly governing our game at present.

A few days ago, Steve Parish appeared on BBC Radio FiveLive asking questions about how other club’s have continued to splash the cash this summer whilst remaining within the parameters of their budgets but with time running out and the Eagles currently joint bottom of the Premier League table with no points after two games, I’m sure he and his fellow investors are attempting to work out a way of bringing fresh faces in before it’s too late.

For what it’s worth, I’m absolutely certain that we will see at least one or two new arrivals before the window closes, with that number potentially increasing to three or four depending on the way the wind is blowing but we must also prepare ourselves for a possible departure or two as Steve and the board attempt to balance the books whilst battling against the clock.

It’s going to be an extremely anxious few days in SE25 but as you can see from Frank de Boer’s comments at the top of the page, he’s got plenty of targets in mind.
