Steve Parish Rubbishes Talk Of A Palace Takeover

1 Posted by - August 8, 2017 - News

Last night, news broke of a potential Palace takeover involving former Arsenal defender Tony Adams, sending the majority of Eagles fans into a meltdown.

This tweet from Steve Parish rubbishes any talk of a takeover. much to the joy of the Palace faithful.

Whilst Parish is known to love the club deeply, the arrival of American investment in the shape of Josh Harris and David Blizter at the start of 2016 set tongues wagging over the eventual departure of CPFC2010’s figurehead; luckily for us, his tweet appears to pour a figurative gallon of cold water on any chat over his possible exit.

The deal which saw the American’s brought on board at Selhurst Park was spoken of as a way of adding financial clout to the Eagles dealings, both in the transfer market and surrounding the general infrastructure of the organisation but unlike the other members of CPFC2010, they prefer to steer clear of engaging with supporters on a one-to-one level, fuelling speculation that they may be looking for a rapid return on their investment.

Despite some having minor gripes about the day-to-day running of the club, I’m sure the vast majority of our supporters view the potential of Steve Parish upping sticks as a potential disaster for Palace’s continued progression both on and off the field. It may have been a bumpy ride at times since he took the reins in 2010 but we are now in the midst of the most successful spell in the club’s 112-year history, thanks in no small part to him.

If you were stressing over the prospect of seeing Tony Adams rocking up in SE25 in the near future, (and who would blame you?) Parish’s comments on Twitter will calm you down in an instant.

Having such an accessible man at the top of the Palace totem poll really is a blessing. It’s easy to forget that sometimes.

Hopefully this rumour can be filed under the ‘things never to be discussed again’ category and thrown to be the bottom of the pacific ocean.
