VIDEO: Palace’s “Best Ever” Goal Against Every 2017/18 Premier League Team

With the new Premier League season now less than two weeks away, one inspired soul has put together a compilation of the “best goal” we’ve scored against each of the 19 other teams in the top tier as we head into the 2017/18 campaign.

This video shows all 19 of the goals selected. Predictably, our strike against Brighton is a personal favourite.

Without the joyous weeks of wall-to-wall football that are generated by international summer tournaments, the months of June and July have been particularly boring for members of the Eagles faithful, who, after the shock departure of Sam Allardyce at the end of last term, are positively desperate to discover how Frank de Boer will fare after taking up the reins in SE25.

Given the relative football famine we’ve all been through of late, videos such as the one attached above provide the perfect source of relief, reminding us all of wonderful moments of skill, wild celebrations and huge victories secured. Obviously, as is the case with any “best ever” list, there will be disputed entries but if you allow yourself to get too bent out of shape over the choices, I would suggest you’re missing the point of the video somewhat.

One thing that I will openly admit to noticing, is the frequency with which Wilfried Zaha pops up in the run-down of our best ever goals, given the fact that so many pundits continue to peddle the lie that the academy graduate has no “end product”. I’m sure, as a regular reader of this site, you need little to no convincing over Wilf’s outrageous talents but I think you’ll agree that it is rather nice to have so many shining examples of the winger’s true ability in one quickfire montage.

We’re now just 10 days away from Palace’s first league game of the season against Huddersfield. Until then, tide yourself over with the collection of beauties attached above.

I can think of few better ways to spend two minutes and twenty seconds.
