Since returning to the Premier League in 2013, Crystal Palace have had a ridiculous number of outrageously good goals scored against us, prompting one sadistic chap to compile a bundle of them in one video.
Whilst the account who uploaded the video yesterday has come under a little bit of fire from one or two fans for putting the footage together at all, plenty of our supporters have seen the funny side and chosen to take it in the good spirit that it was intended.
Whether you're looking towards Olivier Giroud's scorpion kick at The Emirates last term, Andy Carroll's stunning bicycle kick at The London Stadium or the two sublime efforts from Patjim Kasami and Steve Sidwell for Fulham back in 2013, (which ultimately cost Ian Holloway his job) we've been through our fair share of eye-rubbing disbelief over the years.
Whilst watching each goal fly into the net hurts me all over again, there's no harm in embracing a little bit of gallows humour in relation to the club, particularly when it relates to incidents which all occurred months ago. I understand if you'd rather not watch it and advise those of you who are likely to get angry at the sight of opposition goals to steer clear of the link at the top of the page but if you think you can handle it, you'll be left shaking your head at the number of "Goal of the Season" candidates we've conceded in just four years.
Part of me wants to explain away the phenomenon by suggesting that opposition players raise their game against us but in truth, I think we've just been mightily unlucky since making our way back to English football's top table. Hopefully the arrival of Frank de Boer will put a stop to team's pulling goals out of nowhere against us but given the angst we've been through prior to his arrival, I wouldn't bank on it.
Enjoy (if you know what I mean).
