Could This Tweet Pave The Way To Crystal Palace For West Ham’s Adrian?

With Crystal Palace known to be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, West Ham stopper Adrian may have just jumped in front of others in the queue thanks to his activity on Twitter.

This tweet (followed by analysis) from Adrian points towards a possible move to Selhurst Park in the not too distant future.

Whilst the Spaniard may have lost his regular starting place to Darren Randolph last term, he was clearly approaching this pre-season campaign with a renewed sense of optimism but after the club made a huge fuss over the arrival of England man Joe Hart earlier this week, Adrian snapped, aiming a hugely pointed dig at chairman David Sullivan via the medium of Twitter.

I’m sure plenty of football fans, both partial and neutral, will look at Adrian’s actions and feel as though he’s overstepped a mark but to me, it simply shows the man’s desire to succeed in claret and blue. Undoubtedly frustrated to have lost his place in the side, Adrian allowed his emotions to get the better of him following the fawning reaction the club made over Hart’s arrival at The London Stadium; it was understandable, given the fact that the England man’s presence has all but signed Adrian’s figurative death warrant with the Hammers.

Obviously, having been linked with a move for Barcelona’s Jasper Cillessen for a number of weeks, the prospect of bringing in Adrian will come as a bit of an anti-climax to some but when faced with the thought of Wayne Hennessey retaining his place in between the sticks for another full season, I certainly wouldn’t be complaining too loudly.

At the time of writing, we have little way of knowing if it’s a deal the club are actively pursuing but the more I think about a move for the Spanish stopper, the more it makes sense.

Adrian, Chambers, Wilshere, am I asking too much? Adrian is a good keeper, cheaper option than Cillessen would be and both Chambers and Wilshere will fit FdB’s style of play. What do you think, should we be raiding our North London neighbours?

A fit Wilshere is all good with me. My only concern is how rarely he seems to be match-ready these days.

We need some real ball players this season, men who can put their foot on the ball and take stock of the situation at hand. Adrian,Chambers and Wilshere is a yes from me.

      Fair play, John.

Am I the only one who would have rather gone after Hart or Scsezney? Both better keepers and both were available. Failing that a top international keeper like Cilleson is better than Adrian and knows FDB

Would avoid Wilshere, sick note with a lack of desire. Lost his place to Lewis Cook at Bournemouth last season and his stats were very underwhelming.

Hart is on £130,000 a week and is costing West Ham £10 million for a single year’s loan fee.

Scsezney has just gone to Juventus, so I’m doubtful that we could have lured him.

He won’t be first choice there though. He was one of the best keepers in Serie A last year but will be second choice behind Buffon. As much as I hate West Ham can’t help but feel Hernandez is a great signing too
