VIDEO: Bolasie Drops Hint About Wanting To Return To Palace From Everton

Yannick Bolasie may have left Crystal Palace under something of a cloud when departing for Everton but yesterday, footage emerged which saw him hinting rather heavily about wanting to return to Selhurst Park.

This video sees Bolasie hype up his possible return to Palace, given the bond he has with the club. I wouldn’t say no…

Speaking directly to “Ball Street” at a promotional event, the DR Congo winger was being quizzed about the return of Wayne Rooney to Goodison Park, with the interviewer suggesting that the Manchester United legend was in fact well past his sell-by date. Defending Everton’s new recruit, as you would expect, Yala managed to crowbar his love for Palace neatly into the conversation, putting a smile on the face of every Eagles fan in the process.

At the time of his move to Merseyside, tensions were running high within Palace’s fan-base. With Alan Pardew still at the helm and Yannick himself having seemingly grown frustrated with life in south London, the eventual parting of ways was a painful one but now, a year (and one long-term injury later) Bolasie’s love for the club is shining through once more.

I admitted on Twitter last night to feeling genuine regret over thinking badly of Yannick for making the move to Everton, simply because of the affection he still shows towards us whenever the opportunity arises. Whilst I felt justified in expressing my anger at the time, the months that have passed since have shown us that he still feels deeply connected to the club, stating on more than one occasion that he is a Palace fan.

Whilst it feels like an impossible move this summer, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the club looking to bring Yala back into the fold at some point in the not too distant future. With a bevy of stars now populating the Toffees’ squad and Bolasie still working to return from a serious lay-off, he’s got his work cut out for him in more ways than one.

Call it sentimentality if you wish but the above footage proves to me that he’s keen to come home. Let’s hope it’s not too long before we’re reunited.

Bolasie has appeared at several EFC supporter functions in the past 12 months and has always come across great & determined to succeed at EFC. He’ll probably return to Palace some day but it won’t be before he’s had a go at succeeding at EFC.

Very happy for that to be the case, Dixie. I’d love him to be a success with you, he’s too nice a bloke to want anything else for.

Great player but we did great business selling him on at that price. What is a shame is that he got injured because he was pretty reliable fitness wise for us.

Yeah, it really surprised me too, JFB. That said, he did get a pretty serious one in his last season with us at Stoke away…

Haha! I can’t be writing articles on such things, even though I trust you Spiceboy, others would claim that it is nothing more than guesswork. I’ll stick to giving my opinion on the news.
