Liverpool Coach Makes Hugely Arrogant Claim About Sakho’s Palace Future

Mamadou Sakho has been performing superbly for Crystal Palace since arriving on loan from Liverpool, prompting one of his old coaches to aim a ludicrously ignorant dig at the Eagles in the press.

These quotes from ex-Liverpool U23 coach Michael Beale are outrageously arrogant. I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

Since the French international made the switch from Merseyside to SE25, plenty of Reds’ fans have been quick to express their love for the towering central defender, with many openly stating that Klopp had made a huge mistake in letting him leave. That being said, I’ve not seen any Liverpool fans spew the sort of self-entitled rubbish that has come from a man who was employed by the club via the link above.

Quite what qualifies Beale to make such derisory statements about Crystal Palace is up for debate. Were you to be reading his words with no prior knowledge of our club’s recent history, you would assume we’d just won promotion to the Premier League on a budget of £8.50. In reality, we are now looking likely to secure a fifth straight season in the top flight having beaten his old employers on three separate occasions along the way.

Although it will be hugely tricky for Palace to tie Sakho down to a permanent deal this summer, the man himself is clearly not ruling the move out. Having happily bought into the culture at Selhurst Park before receiving rave reviews from his teammates and manager, Sakho’s own behaviour makes Beale’s comments look all the more absurd.

I have a lot of time for Liverpool FC. The history of success, the fan-base and the pride the club shows in their local area are all traits to be admired. It’s just a shame that people such as Michael Beale feel empowered to speak down to clubs like ours as a consequence of those characteristics.

What do you expect from a no-mark player with a stellar career at (ahem) Charlton and FC Twente and who has had to go to Brazil to find employment…

      Haha! Superb retort Les. Bravo!

I think his comments were misplaced. Maybe he should have made clearer he thinks he should be at a higher ranking club – although I think Palace are perfect for him just now. Also just to update you Michael Beale left Liverpool last December to work abroad – so he’s not an employee of LFC.

Cheers, Jonski. I wasn’t aware Beale had moved on. I’ve updated the piece accordingly.

Jonski, did you read any of the articles properly?
Reading your comments the answer would be no,

Sakho obviously doesnt think he’s “too good” for Palace. After the Arsenal game he put a new profile picture on his Twitter account showing himself celebrating our victory over the Arse. He’s also recently changed his Twitter profile to state he is a central defender for Crystal Palace and NOT Liverpool. Clearly he’s happy enough in a Palace shirt.

Haha yes he does, and when the summer comes he will prove he thinks he is too good by rejecting any chance to play for you. and the reason he has updated his profile is because he is a Palace player and not a Liverpool player until June 30th you clown! he also knows that while he is too good for you he is not good enough for us so will be moved on in the summer but it certainly wont be to Palace!

    Beale is right.

Sakho is hands down too good for Palace.

Palace are a nothing club – a Yoyo club.

Sorry if that offends or hurts, but facts often do.

Not just Sakho either – that is why Wilf will leave.

    Crystal Palace = small club.

A nothing club hey??! What does that make Liverpool then based on recent results between the two clubs?? Worse than nothing!! Sorry if that offends or hurts, but facts often do! Good luck in winning all the silverware this season.. oh that’s right.. Liverpool won’t be winning anything! 😂
Liverpool = Club of the past!

SWTM lfc – If you are going to start quoting facts then you do need a better grasp of them than you currently have.

Small clubs become bigger clubs – see Leicester and Bournemouth.

Big clubs become smaller clubs see Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.

Big players can perform very well at smaller clubs – Sakho.

Big players can perform very badly if they move from a big club to a bigger club – Torres at Chelsea.

It is not a fact that Wilfried Zaha is leaving either it’s speculation.
