Yesterday’s game between West Brom and Crystal Palace saw the travelling Eagles faithful aiming a rather pointed dig at Baggies boss Tony Pulis, after stories surfaced this week regarding his protracted legal battle with the club.
The above song was a reference to articles featured in both The Times and The Sun earlier this week which suggested that Crystal Palace’s directors are considering seizing Pulis’ assets, should he continue to stall over the repayment of £3.77 million, as ordered by the High Court back in 2016.
Seemingly still unhappy with the verdict despite the judge having branded his conduct as “disgraceful” and “deliberately misleading”, the Welshman has now engaged the services of a new legal firm, in the hope of somehow wriggling out of his current predicament.
As you would expect, Palace’s supporters were keen to twist the knife during their visit to The Hawthorns yesterday, coming up with above tune early on and giving it plenty of airings throughout the game, no doubt getting under the skin of Pulis himself as he stood on the touchline screaming in his usual manic manner.
The fact that Palace’s players managed to come away from the West Midlands with an unexpected and remarkably comfortable victory only served to add further gusto to the later renditions of the song, amusing vast swathes of supporters who were watching the game online (yes, it’s not technically legal but we all know it goes on).
