Last Saturday’s victory over Middlesbrough has certainly created a feelgood factor at the club, as evidenced by the stunning video uploaded by the club’s official account yesterday.
Having watched the above footage all the way through, I couldn’t help but wonder how many potential montages the club have put together during home games of late, only to be forced into leaving them on the cutting room floor after yet another defeat. Put quite simply, the level of coverage we as fans are now given by our in-house media team is superb.
The victory itself may not have been a classic in the eyes of any neutral onlookers but for our supporters, the result and accompanying performance acted as the perfect response to weeks of drab and dreary displays in the Premier League.
Buoyed by a raucous atmosphere inside Selhurst Park, the players produced when the pressure was really on; getting their noses in front in the first-half and seeing the game out professionally in the second period, much to the joy of their manager and the 25,000 or so Palace fans packed into the stadium.
We must be careful of overestimating the impact that the win has had on our long-term chances of survival, as the complacency that followed our win over Bournemouth proved. That being said, there is no harm to be done by basking in the glow of our triumph over Aitor Karanka and co. for a few hours more; especially with a video shot as expertly as the one at the top of the page.
It is my lifelong dream to write about Crystal Palace FC for a living. If you appreciate the content produced for HLTCO, please click here and read about my long-term plans for the site. I will be eternally grateful if you can contribute in any way.
