Details Of Parish’s Impassioned Dressing Room Rant At Palace’s Players

Steve Parish ripped into Crystal Palace’s players in the dressing rooms following their dismal 4-0 home defeat to Sunderland on Saturday according to a report from the hugely reliable Dominic Fifield.

This article offers details of Parish’s dressing room rant as well as news of Big Sam calling the squad in early on Sunday.

Whilst some supporters have warned against a possible knee-jerk reaction from those both on the inside and on the periphery of the club in the hours which have followed Saturday’s harrowing loss, it seems both the ownership and Allardyce himself are more than happy to read the players the riot act and who can blame them?

Having been consistently championed in the press as the club with the most vocal home support in the Premier League since winning promotion back in 2013, last weekend came as something of a departure from normality, with vast swathes of Selhurst Park breaking into a chorus of “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” shortly after the fourth of the Black Cats’ goals rippled the back of Wayne Hennessey’s net.

That chant was far from a token gesture from our supporters, its words being sung with a saddening depth of feeling, brought on by a sense of desolate disbelief at what we were being forced to watch on the grass in front of us. If anyone had been sceptical about the chances of Palace dropping out of the division in May before this weekend, Saturday’s result will have come as a devastating blow to their hopes of a quickfire change of fortunes in SE25.

Losing in dramatic late fashion at home to Swansea had been extremely hard to take but the team’s latest loss at home to David Moyes’ Mackems really was the straw that broke the camel’s back, both for supporters and the club’s ownership by the looks of things.

Dom’s article featured above makes for grim yet essential reading for any Palace fan who is keen to get to the bottom of where things have been going so wrong for us of late.

Things need to change in a big way in the almost immediate future if we are going to have any hope of plying our trade in the top flight next term; we can only hope the angry tirade dished out by one of our co-owners has done the trick for the time being.

Enjoy (if you can).

glad to see parish have a go at the players-its about time too.pardew took far too much of the blame
for poor results-allardyce has not had the effect which was hoped for-players have to stand up and be
counted.at last palace fans are finally waking up-it is not always about the manager-looks like i was right
all along………now hopefully we can turn things around……

This performance made me realise that the spirit of the administration years and subsequent promotion has well and truly gone.

Can’t remember too many times Palace have rolled over and been thrashed and certainly not by a team who is bottom of the league! People keep saying that on paper we are too good to go down but the problem is we play like paper, two dimensional and easy to tear apart.

Parish deserves to be pissed off with the players, he has spent a lot of dough, sacked a man who he considered a friend and – unlike most chairmen – is a Palace fan. The performances this season suggest there must be an off the field issue in the dressing room. Not sure whether its wages, personal issues or what but something isn’t right.

If anything we have gone backwards under Fat Sam, rather lose 4-3 than 4-0, better for the GD!
