VIDEO: Sky Sports News Give Their Latest Update On Jack Wilshere’s Future

Transfer Deadline Day is now known as a time within which fans across the country hear a flurry of conflicting reports, as proven this morning by talks over Jack Wilshere’s immediate future.

This video link from Sky Sports News claims that the Arsenal man still needs to choose between Palace & one other club.

Having heard next to nothing about a possible play for Wilshere’s services until yesterday morning, fans of numerous clubs, both in the UK and across Europe, have been waiting to see if their manager will make a late bid for the England midfielder’s services, but now it appears as though it’s between us and one other Premier League rival.

After reading in numerous different publications that Wilshere was all set to make the switch to SE25 after positive talks with Eagles boss Alan Pardew yesterday, a fair number of our fans are likely to feel a tinge of frustration when hearing that a deal isn’t as far down the line as they had been led to believe, but as we all know, that is the nature of Deadline Day, when sensationalism and half-truths reign supreme over anything approaching cut and dried reporting.

Indeed, we could be looking at a video link conducted from the inside The Emirates Stadium by a man who has in fact not been given the most up to date information before going live onto the nation’s TV screens, but in many ways, that’s the point of Sky Sports’ Deadline Day rumour-mill spectacular. They profit from confusion and hysteria far more than anything else.

We must hope above all else that Wilshere’s future is all sorted by the time Jim White slivers his way into shot at the Sky Sports studios, allowing us to be spared his joyous excitement at every imaginable twist and turn. An on and off saga involving a technically gifted Arsenal midfielder in the final hours of the window? The Scotsman lives for such opportunities and I for one don’t want to see him satisfied.

If we hear of any further developments we’ll be sure to let you know, but for now, it looks as though we’ll have to suffer the sight of the never-ending Sky Sports “BREAKING NEWS” banner for another few hours at least.
