With Euro 2016 starting this evening, Palace fans will be given a major footballing fix for the next four weeks, but for many, it won’t come anywhere close to watching the boys in red and blue.
The season may have finished a while ago now, but there’s no reason to forget the fine moments we enjoyed in the 2015/16 Premier League season completely, with the video montage attached above acting as a perfect reminder of the team’s best goals from the campaign.
Whilst no one was happy with the run of form the team embarked on between January and May, the months leading up to the turn of the year were genuinely spectacular from a Palace perspective, seeing Alan Pardew and his players scale heights as high as fifth in the Premier League table, prompting those in the stands to dream more freely than they have in years.
Given the drop in results, it’s easy to forget the technical brilliance displayed in a variety of Palace goals from the season just gone; whether you’re looking at Lee Chung-Yong’s stunning winner away at Stoke, Puncheon’s emotional curling effort at home to Norwich or Wickham’s belting volley away at West Brom, we’ve netted our fair share of screamers over the last nine months.
I’m sure the next month will provide the country with all manner of magical moments, hopefully with a few chucked in by England along the way, but for those who follow the boys from SE25, the above video will scratch an itch that the national team never can seem to reach.
