Crystal Palace transfer target Sandro Ramirez has been released by Barcelona in a move that has been designed to make the 20-year-0ld striker’s transition to a new club easier.
The Las Palmas native has been on the books of the La Liga champions since July of 2013, making a total of 92 appearances for the Catalan giants during that period.
Amidst two campaigns with Barcelona B; a period within which he bagged 15 goals in 61 appearances, Sandro was promoted to the Barca first-team, making his top flight debut in August of 2014 when coming off the bench to replace Pedro against Villarreal. Having only been given a maximum of 12 minutes on the pitch, the teenager scored what was to be the game’s only goal.
A Champions League goal against Ajax followed six weeks or so later, but the following campaign was to prove more of a struggle for the fledgling star of the title-chasers. Having found regular first-team appearances hard to come by in the last nine months, Ramirez’s only goals have come in the form of a much-welcomed hat-trick against Villanovense as part of a domestic cup run.
Not lacking in ability by any stretch of the imagination, there is feeling inside the Barcelona camp that Sandro would simply be far better served by being afforded the opportunity to spread his wings elsewhere, with a possible move to SE25 certainly having the potential to provoke an awakening of sorts in the youngster’s game.
As you can see from the video above, Ramirez is a player with bundles to offer anyone who is willing to give him a real chance. Capable of scoring all manner of goals and blessed with the precious gift of a solid footballing brain, there is no reason to believe that a move to the Premier League with us wouldn’t see him flourish into the player Barcelona knew he could be when they first took him on three years ago.
Have a look for yourself with the help of the video above, I’m pretty sure you’ll like what you see.
