With the FA Cup Final edging ever closer, an official video has been made charting Crystal Palace’s journey through the competition, from third round to the showpiece finale.

This video takes you through each and every round of Crystal Palace’s FA Cup journey this season. We’ve scored some belters.

Although we’re all well aware of the challenges we’ve had to overcome to reach this position, the compilation does put the fantastic run we’ve been on since January into context, providing proof to anyone who may doubt us, that we’ve not been given an easy route to the final.

Of the five teams we’ve had to beat on our way to Wembley, only one (Reading) resides outside of the Premier League, whilst four of our five victories have come away from Selhurst Park; a feat I’m sure even the most sceptical of neutral fans would give us grudging credit for.

With away wins over Southampton and Tottenham in the third and fifth round respectively, we proved both to ourselves and those outside the football club, that we were more than capable of managing the tactical minefield of a cup ties with little fuss, thanks to a brand of solid yet dangerous counter-attacking football which should, with a little luck, serve us well against Louis Van Gaal’s men this weekend.

We’ve scored some fantastic goals on our way to the final, with Zaha’s jinking run through the Stoke defence, Kelly’s thunderbolt at White Hart Lane and Connor Wickham’s towering header against Watford standing out as the pick of the bunch.

With one game left to play, we’re all hoping that Alan Pardew and his players have one special performance still to come this season, as they bid to create history and lift our first major trophy at the second time of asking.

Can they do it? If the previous rounds are anything to go by, we’ve got far more than a puncher’s chance.
