Sky Sports’ weekly round table panel show Sunday Supplement sees the UK’s top sports journalists discussing the latest goings on across football; this week, they devoted a fair bit of time to Palace.
Following the Eagles’ 2-2 draw at Upton Park yesterday afternoon, coming back from a goal down to equalise in the final 15 minutes and grab what could prove to be a massive point in the bid to avoid relegation, the panel discuss the possibility of Palace dropping into the second tier, after a winless run which has lasted for the entirety of 2016 to date.
Had anyone suggested that Alan Pardew and co. would even be contemplating the chance of relegation to the Championship during December they would have been laughed at, but through a mixture of injuries, poor performances and late goals against us, the slide has forced relegation into the forefront of our collective thoughts.
Palace fans everywhere are desperate to see the team pick up at least three more points between now and the end of the season, with next weekend’s home clash against Norwich presenting an obvious chance for a victory; a game that will certainly prove to be a nerve-jangling affair throughout.
The entire discussion from the Sunday Supplement team is an engaging listen as always, but with rumours of dressing room unrest at Selhurst Park, the panel raise plenty of intriguing points in unpicking the troubles we’re currently navigating our way through in SE25.
Fast forward to 14 minutes if the Palace discussion is all you’re interested in.
