Last night was a special night to be a fan of Crystal Palace FC. Thanks to two late goals, we made it to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final, the first of which came from Yohan Cabaye.
Backed by nearly 4,000 travelling fans, Alan Pardew’s players made it through against a spirited Reading side; thanks to a much improved second half display, having appeared to be a tad nervous in the opening 45 minutes.
There has been plenty of debate over whether or not the penalty was soft or warranted, but after seeing Christian Benteke win a questionable spot kick against us last Sunday, you’ll struggle to find a single Palace fan who doesn’t feel that last night acted as a form of karma for what we had to endure against Jurgen Klopp and co.
You can judge the incident for yourself from the video attached above, but if you’re asking me; there is absolutely no question that Mike Dean was right to point to the spot. The defender puts an arm out, makes contract and invites Yannick to go down; that’s all there is to it in my mind.
If you’re not interested in whether or not it was a foul and instead, simply want to watch Yohan give us the lead, you can watch the penalty on a loop all day long.
