After more than a month without a single Premier League point, yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Swansea at The Liberty Stadium was a huge relief for the players, all of whom celebrated by popping into Nando’s on the way back to South London.
The picture attached above was uploaded by Yohan Cabaye, who despite being taken off midway through the second half, was in a hugely buoyant mood on the coach with his teammates in the aftermath of a battling draw.
Showing a number of our matchday squad crowding around the Frenchman, you can see an array of Nando’s bags on the tables in front of the lads, a reward which I’m sure no Palace fan would begrudge the players after such a wretched run of form.
The undoubted star of the picture is club captain Mile Jedinak, who is lurking in the shadows behind Emmanuel Adebayor armed with a bottle of Garlic Sauce, perched triumphantly on the seat in front; I’ll be honest, I thought he’d go for something a little hotter.
A special mention must also go to Adebayor’s finger, which, as you can see from the second image, is freakishly long. I’m not usually one to interrogate pictures to such a degree, but I couldn’t help it in this instance.
If the lads beat Watford next weekend, I’d be more than happy to pay for their next trip there myself. Let’s hope it’s a good omen.
