Fraizer Campbell Could Well Be Leaving Crystal Palace Today

Fraizer Campbell could well be on his way out of Crystal Palace at some point today, with interest being expressed in him from one or two Championship clubs.

Hull City are looking to tie up a move for Campbell before the deadline as they attempt to kick on at the top of the table, although they face competition from elsewhere.

Fraizer has never really been looked upon particularly kindly by the Selhurst Park faithful, with his undeniably high work-rate doing little to cover the fact that, in front of goal, he lacks the composure to be a real success in the top flight.

Having started his career with Manchester United, he has played for a number of well established clubs and never disgraced himself, but has always struggled to elevate his game to the standard expected of a regular Premier League starter.

Thanks to the Financial Fair Play regulations that are now in place across England, Campbell’s no doubt decent wage packet is likely to be viewed by those behind the scenes in SE25 as a barrier to us getting any further business done, increasing the likelihood of us sanctioning a transfer for him as the deadline approaches.

Campbell not good enough for the premier league, never has been, definitely a Championship striker. My only concern is we don’t have any reliable forwards at the moment:

Wickham – good player but either injured or suspended and can’t score goals
Chamakh – injured, clever but slow and can’t score goals
Gayle – injured and can score goals but too lightweight to play on his own up front
Adeybayor – massive question mark. Let’s hope he plays well because we are desperate.

So, if the thoughts today are to sell Gayle and Campbell, we had better be in the market for someone else otherwise we are in real trouble!

So gutted Campbell didnt leave. No one tries harder but he is just lacking in the technical department.

He must be a good dressing room player as otherwise i cannot see why we arent knocking doors down to get him off the wage bill.
