Crystal Palace fans everywhere are desperate for Emmanuel Adebayor to hit the ground running in SE25, including comedian Kevin Day, who’s promised a risky act of public nudity if the striker is a success.
Following the official announcement of Adebayor’s arrival at Selhurst Park, lifelong Eagles fan and regular BBC Football presenter Day made a financial pledge to charity, alongside an altogether more harrowing (sorry Kev) suggestion.
In what can only be described as a show of the collective desperation Palace fans are currently experiencing over the team’s goal drought, Day will no doubt be hoping that his statement comes back to bite him on the backside by May.
All season, we have wondered where the team would be in the Premier League table, were we to have a prolific goalscorer within our ranks; a question we may soon discover the answer to, should Adebayor perform as he has for every other one of his English clubs.
With a little over three months left of the league season, many would assume that Adebayor will have his work cut out to get into double figures, but with the Togo man apparently highly motivated to get his career back on track, Day may be forced to go through with his promise by the time the summer rolls around.
