Emmanuel Adebayor has given his first interview to the club’s official TV channel, and just as you would expect, the big man is on top form.
Characteristically jovial throughout, Emmanuel speaks to Chris Grierson about exactly what it was the attracted him to Selhurst Park, before championing his own experience as a key reason for Pardew and co. looking to bring him in.
Discussing the length of time he has spent out of the game, Adebayor is quick to state that he is more than ready to pick up where he left off at White Hart Lane, before speaking openly about what it was about a return to the Premier League which motivated him to sign for the Eagles.
Hugely patriotic, Emmanuel admits that the whole of Togo are desperate to see him playing again, after such a massive association with the Premier League in recent years. He wants to leave a legacy from his efforts in England, which is something he speaks articulately about here.
Adebayor then goes on to speak about his role with the squad, given the fact that he already knows a number of the players on Palace’s books. No donut excited by the talents of Zaha, Bolasie and Cabaye, it promises to be an exciting time for everyone in SE25.
Addressing the concerns over his general fitness after so long away from the professional ranks, the big man is bullish in his statements over is general well being. Far from the shy and retiring type, Emmanuel is supermely confident and appears ready to rip things up in South London.
Let the good times roll.
