Crystal Palace are now believed to be the hot favorites to secure the signature of Chelsea striker Loic Remy, following the Frenchman’s disappointing performance from the bench against Arsenal yesterday.
News of Chelsea’s change of heart in relation to Loic Remy’s future has been everywhere over the last 24 hours, with this piece explaining better than any, what it will take to see the Chelsea man in red and blue.
The Eagles have been interested in a move for the 29-year-old since the summer, but at the time, the then Chelsea manager was extremely reluctant to let the former Newcastle man depart Stamford Bridge, for fear of an attacking crisis for the defending champions.
In reality, the months since have seen the former Newcastle frontman become even most disgruntled with life at Chelsea than he was back in July. Limited to a role on the bench behind Diego Costa, Loic is thought to have grown incredibly frustrated at the lack of first-team minutes he’s been given, in light of the club’s struggle for points.
Brought off the bench at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon, Remy looked completely off the pace, in an outing so bad that it provoked some into questioning whether or not he was intentionally encouraging Hiddink and co. to let him leave West London for pastures new.
There are still one or two factors acting as a stumbling block to Remy being given the green light for a move to Palace, but as you can see from the piece attached above, the stars finally appear to be aligning for Pardew and his former talisman.
