VIDEO: Stop The Press.. This Man Is The Answer To Palace’s Goal Drought

The latest man to be linked with a move to Crystal Palace is Ivory Coast international and current Roma striker Seydou Doumbia.

This video shows an absolute shedload of the goals scored for CSKA Moscow by Seydou Doumbia. Make no mistake, this man would provide a fantastic goalscoring threat for Palace. I defy you to watch this and not be impressed.

The club are thought to be frantically searching for attacking reinforcements as they attempt to halt a run of form which has seen them fail to hit the back of the net in their last five Premier League games, with the 28-year-old seemingly fitting the bill for Alan Pardew’s misfiring Eagles.

Having made quite a name for himself across Europe, first with Young Boys and then with CSKA Moscow, Doumbia earned himself a move to Rome at the start of 2015, only to find life in the Italian capital a little tough, prompting a loan move back to Russia, where he picked up the goalscoring knack quickly once again.

Now back with the Serie A outfit and looked upon by the club’s hierarchy as surplus to requirements, Palace are thought to be one of a number of Premier League teams interested in securing his signature; which is of little surprise when you review his exploits in front of goal over the years.

Having notched up a stunningly impressive 167 goals in 289 games as a professional, there is little doubt that Doumbia is more than capable of being the man to provide a consistent threat in front of goal, should we be prepared to play to his strengths.

Whilst his entire career tally is certainly worthy of a raised eyebrow or two, it is his return during his first spell in Moscow that is the most impressive, with a gigantic 84 goals in just 129 games having made him into an obvious cult hero for the club’s adoring fans.

Still the right side of 30 and apparently more than happy to buy into a move to the Premier League, a swoop for him represents the most exciting serious option for Crystal Palace fans in the window so far, should there be genuine interest in him from those behind the scenes in SE25.

As you can see from the video above, Doumbia certainly has what it takes to bag anywhere between 10 and 20 goals a season for us given the right service; a talent that is worth its weight in gold if it ever becomes available.
