VIDEO: Alan Pardew Was Visibly Annoyed By Palace’s Loss To Villa

Alan Pardew was visibly annoyed with the nature of Crystal Palace’s performance when speaking to the club’s official website after last night’s terrible 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

This video shows the Palace boss in a clearly very tense and angry mood whilst answering the questions of Chris Grierson. At least he’s as annoyed as us by the nature of the players’ performance.

On a night when the team never got going, Pardew understandably struggles to come up with any positives from the game, admitting that from an offensive perspective, the team are a long way from where we need to be as things stand.

It would be easy to simply blame the injuries we’ve suffered of late as the key factor in our poor run, but to Pardew’s credit, he’s often loathe to lean on excuses such as that in assessment of any defeat. Whilst happy to pick apart the reasons for our dismal efforts at Villa Park, you don’t get the impression from the interview above, that he is searching for an excuse to absolve himself of any blame.

Perhaps Pardew’s remarkably dark mood will provoke both he and the club’s directors to step up their efforts in the search for attacking reinforcements, given the dismal run of goalscoring form we’ve endured in recent weeks. Whilst I’m not sure the likes of Suarez or Messi could have been much help to us last night, a proven goalscorer is an absolute necessity in the months to come, should we be serious about establishing ourselves as a force in the top flight over the next few years.

You’re not likely to have seen Alan Pardew as angry as he is in the video above since he first took over the reigns as Palace boss a little over a year ago. Let’s hope he and the players can work through what has become a mini crisis in time for our trip to Manchester City this weekend. Gulp.

our last Prem games for this month are Man City and Spurs, i can see us struggling but hopefully come Feb we can pick up some points against Bourmouth, Swans, Watford and WestB. if we dont we are going to be falling down that table quick.
