After being linked to roughly 5,438 strikers in the week since the January transfer window opened, it seems as if one of the names in question would jump at the chance of a move to Selhurst Park.
As reported in the piece attached above, Fiorentina frontman Khouma Babacar would be more than happy to leave the Italian’s for a chance to prove himself in the Premier League, having caught wind of our supposed interest in securing his services over the next few weeks.
Still just 22, the frontman is believed to have already been the subject of a sizeable bid from Pardew and co. only for Fiorentina to turn it down, but with our need for another striker more pressing than ever, there seems every chance of the Palace board returning with improved terms in the days to come.
Whilst the Italians are seemingly playing hardball over any potential deal, they are supposedly lining up replacements for Babacar, should an acceptable offer come their way; all of which points towards Babacar doing his level best to force a move away from Fiorentina, should the opportunity present itself.
It’s difficult to know exactly how high Parish and his fellow board members will have to go in their quest to reach an agreement with the Serie A outfit, but Alan Pardew’s current lack of attacking options, not to mention a run of 270 minutes without a goal, will no doubt focus their minds of the task at hand.
We’ll keep you updated.
