Palace Are Believed To Be Readying Bid For Swansea Midfielder

Crystal Palace are believed to be readying a bid for Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, with the Welsh club apparently keen to offload the former Charlton man.

This article gives an insight into the mechanics behind a potential deal for Jonjo Shelvey, whilst also giving an answer over the fee required to prompt Swansea letting him go.

Although the Swans directors are still waiting to appoint a permanent successor to their previous manager Garry Monk, a bid for Shelvey will supposedly be welcomed by them, following a turbulent few months in their relationship with him.

Having signed for the club from Liverpool, Shelvey has been one of their best performers in recent seasons, but questions have been raised over his general attitude and work-rate in training, both by the club’s backroom staff and their former boss, Monk.

After years of what had been considered steady progress at The Liberty Stadium, Swansea are now coping with the first prolonged dip in form since making the jump into the Premier League. Hovering dangerously close to the bottom three and with just a handful of goals to their name, the club’s owners are looking for a way out of trouble before putting their faith solely behind a new boss.

Would you like to Shelvey swap South Wales for South London, or should we steer well clear?

I agree Richard, we were poor yesterday, but to be fair Chelsea were good. Shelvey might be a good signing to play alongside Cabaye and McArthur but that would probably be at the expense of Puncheon?

I would be looking to fill other positions before midfield however as we were shocking up front!

Agreed, we have plenty of options at centre mid. Between Cabeye, McArthur, Jedinak, Ledley, Williams and Puncheon we have more than enough players to cover the 3 midfield spots With Gayle and Wickham being quite prone to niggling injuries a solid no.9 should be the first priority. Then cover at CB and out wide but that can wait till the summer.

Shelvey is trouble and we have good cover in midfield if we use the players properly. More urgent for cover at centre back, although DD has been brilliant with Scottie. Definitely need at least 1 more player up front.
