Steve Parish has spoken for the first time since the deal to bring Josh Harris and Blitzer was announced, giving some real assurances over the direction the club will head in over the next few years.
Interviewed by Chris Grierson following the team’s 2-1 win away at Stoke yesterday afternoon, the chat touches on our performance on the day, before delving into the details behind the arrival of the US billionaires. Indeed, Parish will have felt compelled to set the record straight over one or two aspects of the agreement, after some extremely lazy reporting in the national press over he last few days.
Pressed for further context over the plans for Selhurst Park, Parish speaks openly about the investment that is set to be plunged into the stadium, filling supporters in over the discussions that are continuously taking place with all of the local stakeholders in SE25. Quite rightly excited about the next few years, you get the sense that Steve feels he can really push the club on from this launching pad.
There is also some discussion over the shift of power behind the scenes, with the other three members of CPFC2010 still involved, but in a slightly different official role to the one they have all occupied until now.
All in all, it’s an interview which is insightful and comforting in equal measure, adding to the positivity that is surrounding Crystal Palace FC at this moment in time.
