Crystal Palace are amongst a host of Premier League clubs believed to be interested in a move for Senegal midfielder Cheikh Ndoye this January.
This wonderful header against Lyon would be good enough to grace any league. Coming as part of a brace the big man scored in a 2-0 away win at the start of December, it highlights his aerial threat perfectly.
The 29-year-old has been one of the standout performers for Angers this season; a club who have baffled their critics by climbing to second place in Ligue One, despite only promotion into the division last season.
With Palace reportedly facing competition from both Chelsea and Manchester City for his signature, we will have to work quickly in the New Year if we are in fact keen to bring him in, but having supposedly sent a scout to watch him against Bordeux last week, we will almost certainly be ready to pull the trigger when the time is right.
His rise from obscurity has been so rapid, that there doesn’t even appear to be a great deal of footage available of him online, which in the modern game, is almost unheard of. The two videos we have managed to find (above and below) do however demonstrate the midfielder’s monstrous presence in the air, which will almost certainly come in handy if he does make a switch to these shores.
Despite occupying a role in midfield, Ndoye is currently Angers top scorer this term, with five goals to his name. Should he indeed make the switch to the Premier League, Alan Pardew and his coaching staff will undoubtedly be hopeful of him continuing that trend in red and blue, given the lack of goals we’ve had from our strikers since the summer.
