Steve Parish believes that the imminent US investment in Crystal Palace will accelerate the plans that he and his fellow owners have for the redevelopment of Selhurst Park by at least 10 years, following their initial estimates.
Parish’s words here point towards an extremely exciting future for everyone associated with Crystal Palace FC. Both on and off the pitch, he and his fellow investors are looking to push the club on to the next level. It’s an interview that will have you dreaming of what the future could hold for us.
In an extremely detailed interview with The Evening Standard, Parish has laid out his masterplan for the next decade of Crystal Palace FC, given the boost in financial backing that we are about to receive from American billionaires Josh Harris and David Blitzer.
Making direct efforts to quell any fears over his or any other member of CPFC2010’s immediate departure, Steve is quick to point out that the extra monetary muscle will be used to accelerate the plans he and the rest of the original consortium had for the football club, working in tandem with Harris and Blitzer to constantly improve us both on and off the field.
As you would expect, the stadium dominates a large portion of the discussion, such has been Parish’s desire to see it dragged into the 21st century since taking over the reins five years ago. Thankfully, it seems as though there is a cohesive and well structured plan in place for its redevelopment, with Harris and Blitzer at the heart of the accelerated timeframe for doing so.
With the team going from strength to strength under Alan Pardew, there are more than enough reasons for Palace fans to be cheerful ahead of 2016 on the simple basis of the playing squad alone, but as the above interview with Steve Parish highlights, there is every reason to believe that 2015 is just the start of the Crystal Palace success story, rather than the pinnacle.
Have a read for yourselves, I dare say you’ll be excited.
