Remember the start of November, when the Jurgen Klopp bandwagon was gathering pace at an alarming rate, only to be halted by Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win at Anfield? Well, it seems, in the immortal words of Kylie Minogue, he just can’t get us out of his head.
Jurgen Klopp wears his heart on his sleeve, particularly when he’s angry. This video has captured the moment he dropped an f-bomb when discussing his team’s defeat to Crystal Palace yesterday. Glorious.
When discussing what has been an otherwise stellar start to life in the North West, the former Dortmund supremo was generally positive, before admitting that he “just can’t get that f****ng defeat to Crystal Palace out of my head.” Luckily for us, the moment was caught on camera and can be seen on the link above.
It was only a day or two before the German’s defeat to us that he attempted to play down the recent good form we’ve enjoyed against the Reds by suggesting that “the words Crystal Palace mean nothing to me”, only to then watch on as his team slumped to a first and to date only defeat under his stewardship in front of a baffled set of home supporters.
It’s interesting too, that the scene of what is so far his only loss as Liverpool boss provoked the only piece of criticism for those on Merseyside, when he expressed his disappointment at the mass exodus following Scott Dann’s late winner.
Whilst it will always be easy to roll with the punches and please an expectant fan base when results are going your way, Klopp’s tantrum raises genuine questions about the direction his time as Liverpool manager will go in when times do inevitably get tougher.
For now, it’s easy to laugh at the German, who has a sole defeat to ourselves blotting his copy book following what is an otherwise fantastic start to life in England. The words “Crystal Palace” will mean something to him for the rest of his days now.
