Mile Jedinak has scored his second Australia goal in two games, giving the Socceroos a 4-0 lead in their game against Bangladesh.
The Crystal Palace and Australia captain had added his name to the socresheet following Tim Cahill’s rapid-fire hat-trick, which saw the visitors race into a 3-0 lead after just 37 minutes.
Mile’s goal (a close-range back post header) has sent the Aussies into the dressing rooms with a 4-0 lead intact after the opening 45 minutes, with the second half set to be something of a cakewalk for Ange Postecoglou’s men, as they look to add on another raft of goals in their continuing efforts to secure a place at the 2018 World Cup.
Clearly, there is a huge gulf in class between the two sides, but as the old saying goes, you can only beat what is put in front of you. After worries about the distance they were set to travel, the ease with which they’ve killed off any hope of an upset will remain an incredibly satisfying feeling for Mile and his teammates.
After goals in back to back games, he’ll be hopeful of grabbing another before the full-time whistle sounds at this rate. Have a look at his goal from today on the link attached above. It doesn’t matter how goals go in, they all count.
