Crystal Palace victories are fantastic things, particularly when they come away from home. Yesterday afternoon, thanks to Yannick Bolasie and Scott Dann, we were given a day to truly savour.
Taking on a Liverpool side who, prior to kick-off, were still unbeaten under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, Pardew’s players were utterly fantastic from the first minute until the last, grafting frantically for what is a third straight league victory over the Champions League hopefuls.
Spurred on by 2,000 travelling Palace fans tucked into the corner of Anfield, the visitors took the game to the hosts before grabbing the lead through Yannick Bolasie midway through the opening 45 minutes.
Philippe Coutinho did level for the Reds just before half-time, but after a tense second period, it was native Scouser Scott Dann who popped up with the decisive second Palace goal of the afternoon to secure an absolutely massive three points on Merseyside, popping the Klopp bubble in the process.
Now faced with a two week break before our next fixture at home to Sunderland, the squad can enjoy a well earned rest with the memory of another successful trip to the North West under their belts.
Both goals are (for now) attached above, take a moment or two to enjoy them before the killjoys at the Premier League find the footage and demand that it be taken off the internet.
Monday mornings always feel better after a Palace win, soak up every second of it.
