Crystal Palace U21s will have their game against Bristol City streamed live to Eagles fans across the world this afternoon.
With the first-team not using Selhurst Park until Monday the 23rd November when we face Sunderland under the floodlights, the U21s will play today’s game against Bristol City in SE25, allowing the club to film and broadcast the footage live via the club’s website.
Whilst Premier League games are subject to strict licensing rules, in accordance with international law, the academy set-up are not hamstrung by the same degree of legal red tape, opening up plenty of avenues for the club’s media team to pursue.
Ideally, from 2pm today, you will be able to log in to your own personal account, via the link attached above, and watch Gary Issott’s youngsters take on Bristol City in perfect clarity, even though you’re likely to have to be creative in hiding the screen from your boss.
Hopefully, it’s an idea that the club will look to implement on a regular basis, given the importance our fan base places on the academy, with Palace fans having always been deeply interested in the potential of our brightest young players.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a solid performance and a convincing victory in front of the cameras; it will certainly brighten up what would otherwise be a relatively boring Tuesday afternoon.
