Keshi Anderson has made a fantastic start to life on loan at Doncaster Rovers, scoring in midweek against Swindon Town and doing so again yesterday, in Donny’s 2-1 home victory over Barnsley.
Having signed for Crystal Palace at the start of 2015, Anderson’s rise has been rapid, scoring regularly for the club’s U21 side under the watchful eye of Gary Issott and earning a loan move to the League One outfit as a direct consequence of his exploits with us.
Clearly an extremely talented finisher, the mere fact that the youngster has bagged two goals in his first three appearances at The Keepmoat Stadium says a great deal about his state of mind. Whilst you can argue that any player who has serious ambitions of carving out a career in the top flight should be able to net regularly at that level, it’s worth remembering that Keshi was playing non-league football just six months ago.
Much like Jamie Vardy, there appears to be a ruthlenessness to the former Barton Rovers striker, proving in a very short space of time, that he has a knack for scoring goals which simply can’t be taught. Of course, he will have lean spells too, but for now, all signs point towards a possible diamond in the rough that has been uncovered by Alan Pardew and his staff.
Ask any Doncaster fan for their views on Keshi and already, you will hear nothing but glowing praise for his performances.
Attached above is footage of his goal in yesterday’s win over Barnsley, which, when looked at alongside our victory over West Brom and Hiram Boateng’s late winner for Plymouth, makes for an extremely pleasing weekend all round in SE25.
