Pundits everywhere have been predicting the outcome of today’s meeting between Tottenham and Crystal Palace, leading to a mixture of results being forecast.
Whilst the BBC’s Mark Lawrenson is sure that Spurs will triumph comfortably, the same cannot be said for Sky Sports pundit and Arsenal legend Paul Merson, who feels the hosts are in for a horrible afternoon.
Similarly, former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp remains unconvinced about their chances of taking all three points in a game that has prompted numerous neutrals to plump for a Palace win.
In fairness, Alan Pardew’s side head into the fixture in better form than their North London counterparts, having taken more Premier League points away from home than any other club in 2015. When you consider that Spurs were in action just over 48 hours ago in the opening game of this season’s Europa League competition, there are plenty of reasons to suggest that Palace are primed to cause an upset.
That being said, we’re not exactly used to the supposed “experts” within the game giving us any degree of credit as Merson and Redknapp have here.
Times, they are-a-changing.
