Lee-Chung Yong is still finding his feet at Crystal Palace, but he remains one of South Korea’s most famous exports.
Having made a name for himself at Bolton Wanderers, the creative midfielder moved to SE25 last season, but is yet to convince many of the Palace faithful that he has what it takes to hold down a regular place in Alan Pardew’s Premier League starting XI.
That being said, his place in South Korea’s national team remains untouched, and earlier this week, he bagged a goal in their convincing with over Laos.
Admittedly, the 2002 World Cup semi-finalists were always tipped to be too strong for their Asian qualification counterparts, but you can only beat what is put in front of you, with Lee’s goals helping to set the home side on their way to a crushing 8-0 win.
He may well struggle for game time upon his return to the UK, but in his homeland, he remains a hero, as the video above demonstrates.
