Joe Ledley looks set to join Mile Jedinak and Fraizer Campbell on the sidelines with a hamstring strain after missing Wales’ win over Cyprus last night.

Although the midfielder has been struggling to gain a starting role at Palace in the opening weeks of the season, Chris Coleman has regularly deployed him in the centre of the park for his country and was set to do the same last night until the final moments.
Drafting David Edwards into the starting line-up as Ledley’s replacement, the Wales boss was forced to make three changes from the team that beat Belgium in Cardiff; not that it stopped his players from producing another rock solid performance to secure a 1-0 victory and remain top of their group.
The extent of Ledley’s injury remains unknown at this stage, but with club captain Mile Jedinak already sidelined with the same problem, there is a worry that we will be extremely short of midfield cover behind Jimmy McArthur and Yohan Cabaye when we welcome Manchester City to Selhurst Park next weekend.
Hopefully, the Welshman won’t be out of action too long, given the reliance we are bound to place on depth throughout the squad in the coming weeks. Although both he and the aforementioned Jedinak have struggled for game time in red and blue so far this term, their introductions from the substitute’s bench have proven to be pivotal in hanging on to results against the likes of Norwich and Chelsea already.
He may not be the most spectacular of players, but Joe is a man you can count on in a crisis, as Chris Coleman knows all too well.
Fingers crossed for his speedy recovery.
