After a relatively long break, Jason Puncheon recently rejoined Twitter, although after this morning’s outburst, you would assume his account may not be active for long.
Having taken a relative tsunami of “banter” in the aftermath of his penalty miss at White Hart Lane on Saturday, the former Southampton winger has kept his counsel rather well, but it seems the appearance of Neil Warnock on this morning’s TalkSPORT Breakfast Show pushed Puncheon too far.
After Warnock, who managed Puncheon for QPR in 2008, claimed that he doubted whether the player was mentally tough enough to be taking spot kicks, the Palace man took to Twitter to air his astoundingly forthright views on his former manager.
As expected the tweets have now been deleted, but with his comments now public knowledge, this has the potential to open a huge can of worms involving the former Palace boss.
Football may be incredibly frustrating at times, but it’s seldom boring.
